About Vanessa Parsons
Vanessa’s remarkable grooming journey commenced in 1990 when, at 16 years old, she purchased her very first salon. Over the course of three decades, Vanessa has achieved extraordinary success in the grooming industry, managing both thriving salons and mobile grooming services on the beautiful Gold Coast.
Throughout her career, Vanessa has been honored with opportunities to judge grooming competitions both nationally and internationally, in Singapore and Korea. She also served as a director for the Pet Industry Association of Australia for over two years, advocating for fellow groomers, she is also an Australian Ambassador for Shear Magic, proudly affiliated with Botany Bay Imports. Her certifications as an International Master Groomer (IMG), Certified Master Groomer (CMG), and International Certified Master Groomer (ICMG) underscore her commitment to excellence. Vanessa was a certifier for International Professional Groomers and now serves as a certifier for International Grooming Company. Her extensive certificate and qualifications also include certificate 3 & 4 in pet grooming at the master's level, Therapeutic Pet Groomer, Medic Pet Certified and a Certified Companion Animal Hygienist.
Vanessa's journey into the world of competitive grooming commenced in 2009 in Australia placing in her first competition with a miniature schnauzer and also cocker spaniel and led to her participation in her first international competition in 2010 in Pasadena, USA, where she secured 2nd place in the terrier class with a Miniature Schnauzer. She was a non-touring member of Groom Team Australia in 2009 and a touring member for the 2014/2015 Groom Team, representing Australia in the terrier class. Together with her teammates, she showcased her skills in Verbania, Italy.
Among her many accolades, Vanessa has won three Best in Show awards with the Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle, and West Highland Terrier. She has also claimed runner-up Best in Show titles, many group wins, class victories, and numerous placements. Vanessa's achievements extend to being crowned Queensland Royal Champion in 2012 and 2013. Proudly as the team manager for the Shear Magic show team, culminated in a monumental victory with her amazing teammates, as her miniature schnauzer contributed to the team winning the coveted "Mastergroom Australian Team Champions" title in 2019.
Beyond her achievements, Vanessa is a co-founder of Groomer Nation, a platform dedicated to advancing education in the grooming industry. Her passion for sharing knowledge has led her to speak at conferences throughout Australia and conduct educational workshops and seminars for groomers. Vanessa's love for dogs extends to owning, breeding, exhibiting, and competing with the beautiful Miniature Schnauzer, with numerous champions that she has bred and titled. She has had the privilege of learning from world-renowned Miniature Schnauzer breeders and groomers, honing her expertise in the breed which has been an essential part of her grooming education.
